波士頓紅襪隊在主場對決費城人隊，紅襪隊賽前舉辦了溫馨的感人開球儀式，讓波士頓爆炸案受害者開球，另一方面也請來協助警方認出兇手的民眾一起參與，讓這場比賽十分溫馨。
不過費城人隊來踢館，絕對不手軟，首局Michael Young就擊出本季第2轟全壘打首開記錄。
但是紅襪隊下半局也有建樹，Jacoby Ellsbury安打上壘後，Dustin Pedroia敲出適時安打，把戰局追平。
可惜紅襪隊自此後再也沒辦法越雷池一步，一直掛蛋到最後。
費城人隊則是在7局上靠Erik Kratz安打再下一城，9局上Domonic Brown火上加油，敲出本季第11轟，終場費成人就以3:1贏球。 (接下一頁)
