偷竊安全帽的法律問題

A騎車要去找B發現自己安全帽不見應該是被偷，然後以為B家裡有結果沒有，所以在附近人家發現一頂安全帽就拿了，之後越想越後悔心裡很不安晚上的時候就將安全帽還回去，之後收到警方通知說有人報案，監視器拍到A拿走安全帽的樣子，似乎是因為附近人家房子都長一樣，所以A應該是把安全帽放錯地方，有聽人家說跟對方寫和解書，雖然這是公訴罪不過有和解會比較好，A沒有任何前科，在當下其實就有悔意把安全帽還回去，但是放錯地方，如果要調監視器應該也能看到A還回安全帽的畫面，很不巧的是附近人家好像有很多東西被偷，所以A就有點被誤會，A有強調自己並沒有偷竊其他財物，想請問這樣法官會怎麼判?應該不會太重吧...
