Google台灣設廠　預料吸引大廠進駐

【鄧惠珍／彰化報導】Google台灣資料中心成立，Google全球資料中心副總裁Joe Cava 說，希望該資料中心能為亞太地區用戶提供更快速、可靠的網路服務，享受雲端運算所帶來的各項助益。
　　台灣Google公關專員張聿嵐說，資料中心設在台灣確實可能讓台灣民眾搜尋速度增加千分之一或萬之一秒，但Google搜尋引擎速度還是會因使用者的設備或頻寬限制，導致速度不一，資料中心設在彰化，就是讓亞洲地區多了一處備源，讓使用者有更穩定的搜尋服務。
　　大葉大學電算中心主任張顧耀說，Google搜尋引擎不到1秒鐘就可以找到成千上萬筆的資料，原理是不必透過資料庫，資料直接以電腦展開抓取，因此需要有大量的儲存空間，對台灣來說，台灣資料中心的起用就是讓Google多一處備源，讓民眾有可能不需經海底電纜繞到美國等其他國家資料中心再繞回來，網路速度確實會快一些，不過一般民眾可能感覺不出來。
　　張顧耀說，Google台灣資料中心營運能提升台灣的國際能見度，應可領進其他產業或科技大廠到台灣投資。
